The Session would be moderated by Mr Soham Das, Director, Tillotoma Foundation.
Azerbaijan, then known as Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, became the first secular-democratic Muslim-majority state in 1918 after the collapse of the Russian Empire, post which in 1920, it was incorporated into the Soviet Union as Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1991, the modern Republic of Azerbaijan was formed when it proclaimed its independence from the USSR. Azerbaijan is a democratic and secular republic with a unitary, semi-presidential form of Government.
The Special Session would explore the geopolitical realities of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as its journey of development and prosperity.
